Writing an email.
Every email has the same parts. Once you know the parts, you can write any email. Fill this in at home — pick someone you would actually email this week, and send it.
An email has 6 parts.
1TO
The email address of the person you are sending it to.
2SUBJECT
One line about what the email is about.
3GREETING
“Hi” or “Hello”, then their name.
4BODY
Your message. Keep it short — two or three short paragraphs is plenty.
5SIGN-OFF
“Thanks” or “Cheers”, then your name.
6YOUR DETAILS
Optional. Your phone number, role, or organisation.

A phone call works too. Here are three lines you can use. You can write your own.
- “Hi, my name is . I am calling about .”
- “I need some help with .”
