Day-of escalation tree
- Medical event (allergic reaction, breathing, fall): Call 000 first. Mandy or Metia stays with the participant. Lukas calls primary contact + DAS office. Document on incident form within 24 hours.
- Behavioural distress / walkout: Mandy or Metia follows after a beat. Quiet check-in outside the room. If escalation needed, call primary contact. Don't return participant to room without consent.
- Transport no-show (Keyanna): Call KP Services 0403 574 249. If unreachable, call Wil Boaza at CoLab. Don't wait past 11:15 — get session moving and update Keyanna by phone when transport sorted.
- Photo without consent risk: If anyone in the room photographs a participant whose form isn't signed, ask politely for the photo to be deleted. Note in debrief.
- Critical incident (any safety issue you can't handle alone): Lukas mobile 0409 924 058. If unreachable, DAS office (08) 8953 1422.
Cohort 1 · 2026 · Session 6 of 8 · Agenda
Small Steps and First Steps
Thursday 25 June 2026 · 11:00–13:00 · Akaltye Room, Desert Knowledge Australia
Timeline
| Time | What | Who leads |
|---|---|---|
| 11:00–11:10 10 min | Welcome + Acknowledgement From M9 · slow this one — it's the last PATH welcome | Mandy (welcome) + agreed reader (Acknowledgement) |
| 11:10–11:25 15 min | Icebreaker — one small step you've taken From M9 · one short true sentence each · ties to today's Small Steps theme | Mandy (models first) |
| 11:25–11:45 20 min | PATH refresher + the map shape From M9 · the COLOUR CODED PATH poster on the wall | Metia (Mandy adds where it fits) |
| 11:45–12:00 15 min | Activity 1 — Small Steps ladder (P10) From M9 · M9_W1 (3 copies each — drafts are fine), final into the booklet | Both walk the room — Mandy helps with smaller-is-better |
| 12:00–12:15 15 min | Break Break + shared food Tea · food · water · cake if the cohort agreed at S5 | — |
| 12:15–12:35 20 min | Activity 2 — Getting Ready for your PATH Plan (P11) From M9 · M9_W2 · WHEN / WHO / COLOURS / WHAT TO BRING | Both — Mandy scribes where preferred |
| 12:35–12:55 20 min | Looking after yourself for your PATH Plan day From M10 'Looking after myself' (Before/During/After) · its weaving-guide Week-9 home · PATH-Plan-day prep | Metia frames · Mandy scribes the flipchart |
| 12:55–13:00 5 min | What's next — see you in two weeks S6 close · NO program ceremony — the farewell now lives at S8, the last session | Mandy (Metia supports) |
What we keep vs hold over
What we keep
- Nothing compressed — M9 runs as a single module in its native 2hr shape (the first session of the program that doesn't fold two modules)
- Both worksheet activities protected: Small Steps ladder (P10) + Getting Ready for your PATH Plan (P11) — WHEN confirmed before anyone leaves
- Layer 3 end-of-program reflection in pairs — full 20 minutes; it's the program's evaluation backbone
- S6 close: the plain forward bridge + the looking-after-yourself block — keep it light. The program close (standing ovation, leave-behind handover) now lives at S8, where it's never trimmed
Held over to next session
- Easy Read variant — a separate Phase 6 build (slides at 28pt+, one worksheet question per A4 page, sticker-and-arrow Likert on M9_W4, bigger ladder rungs); the current deck is 18pt minimum body
- Invitation sending — the list is captured today; actually sending the invites (with help where wanted) happens in the follow-up window over the next two weeks
- EXTRAS BOOKLET 9-week — offered as a take-home for whoever wants one, not worked through in-room
- Day-after SMS — post-session follow-up per 06_Post_Workshop_Follow_Up_Template.md (the end-of-program letter now posts after S8)
- How much 'final goodbye' weight stays at S6 — M9 was authored as the last group session, but Cohort 1 meets twice more (M10 2 Jul, M12 9 Jul); the split between today's PATH-arc close and the S8 program close is an alignment decision
- Mandy's menu-of-options peer review of the M9 worksheet pile (W1, W2, W4) — after today, for the NEXT cohort's M9 build, not these participants' private sheets
Materials needed
- Laptop + projector with M9 deck preloaded (do not depend on cloud)
- DAS-rebranded PATH BOOKLET (full 19pp, colour, A4, saddle-stitched) — 1 per participant (PATH_BOOKLET_DAS.docx)
- EXTRAS BOOKLET 9-week (DAS) — 1 per participant who wants one (EXTRAS_BOOKLET_9_WEEK_DAS.docx)
- M9_W1 Small Steps ladder (A3 landscape) — 3 per participant
- M9_W2 Getting Ready for PATH Plan (A3 landscape) — 1 per participant
- M9_W3 Invitation to your PATH Plan template — 1 per participant + spares
- Layer 1 per-session (traffic light) feedback forms — 1 per participant
- COLOUR CODED PATH wall poster (DAS palette, A2 print) — 1, taped to the wall
- DAS contact card — 1 per participant (office stock)
- Markers (purple, red, orange, black) — 6+, plus the standard kit (paper roll, sticky notes, first aid)
- Camera (phone OK) — only if the cohort agreed to a group photo at S5; consent confirmed per person on the day
- Catering: tea, food, water — cake / shared food if the cohort agreed at S5
- Looking after yourself (Before/During/After, retargeted to the PATH Plan day) A4 — 1 per participant + Easy Read picture-stem spares (from M10 'Looking after myself')
- Blank consent + photo-permission forms — 1 per participant (for the looking-after-yourself paperwork step)
Participant flags + needs are on the Emergency contacts and Run sheet (facilitator-only) — kept off the agenda to keep this one scannable.
